The Background
Stanible is your one-stop shop for unique digital collectibles from various celebrity creators, including actors, singers, and athletes. Users can collect limited editions of exclusive photos, videos, and recordings, similar to online shopping, using their e-wallets. Additionally, users can showcase their collectibles to fellow fans, known as 'stans'.

The primary goal is to engage communities of fans who support their favorite celebrities by purchasing valuable digital collectibles. The prompt seeks recommendations for enhancing the web app and adding new experiences.

The research questions we wanted to answer 💬
What types of content, experiences, and engagements do Stans value the most and why?
What features make a web app essential without taking out the experience from a mobile app?
What are the preferred platforms in consuming celebrity content and why?
Participants for the interviews were recruited based on user types identified during the design of the Stanible Mobile App. Due to time constraints, we interviewed five super fans from our personal networks.
These personas are identified during the design of the Mobile App.
After chatting with the ‘Stans’, I helped our research leader set up a brainstorming session with the rest of the team to go over what we learned. We used a method called affinity mapping to sort through all the ideas. This helped us highlight the opportunities we spotted during the talks and figure out which problems were most important to tackle to meet our business goal.
Insights and problems we found out 💬
Stans want to know what they are getting into before actually joining the platform.
(i.e. checking the creators, content, features available and finding out what is in it for them.) Many people struggle to see value in the concept of purchasing a digital collectible in exchange for perks.
Stans want the closest possible experience to a physical interaction with their favorites.
Many super fans’ most memorable engagements with their favorite celebrity are in person and an online experience cannot match this interaction. (e.g. meet and greets, concerts, etc.)
Stans follow their favorite creators or celebrities, not necessarily the platform.
Real fans support their favorite creator/ celebrity no matter what. If their favorite is actively updating, posting, engaging on a platform, they will be encouraged to join as they would not want to miss out.
Therefore, in order to persuade stans to purchase collectibles and engage on the platform, we need to:
First educate them on the Stanible concept and prompt them to join the platform.
Entice them with features that will encourage engagements where they will see value in the collectibles.

Due to time constraints, our team recruited 3 participants for our usability tests based on the personas provided by client. The participants both tested the mobile app and web app performing the tasks we set out.

Recommended Next Steps 👣
Another round of usability testing with more saturated participation count can be conducted on the iterated prototype. This would allow for more data to be collected and considered.
After that, the insights from both rounds of usability testing can be used for iterations on the proposed design and features. This is to improve the experience even better.
We strongly advise Stanible to commence dogfooding the product. This strategic initiative will not only streamline the collection of real-time feedback but also pinpoint other potential opportunities to improve conversion rates.
